BILL PRYDE'S new series of unique screenprinted monoprints celebrates the moods and rhythms of landscapes for which he has a special affinity (his native Scotland and Lanzarote). He develops this work into a spontaneous layering and selection of moments, using the tools of vibrant colour and dynamic form, suggesting the drama and energy of theatrical performance. Since his last solo show at the Curwen in 2008, ‘The India series’, Bill’s work has been shown in one-man shows at the Dundas Street Gallery in Edinburgh, the Nehru Centre in London, the Old Printworks Gallery in Saxmundham, and Kolkata, India. Recent group shows include the Bankside Gallery and the Redchurch Street Gallery in London, and the Fry Gallery in Saffron Walden. |
