David Rhys Jones
David Rhys Jones studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and has exhibited widely including at the V&A Museum, The Royal Academy and the Courtauld Institute of Art. in 2010 he was joint winner of the Jerwood Contemporary Makers Prize, and his work is held in many private and public collections, including the Tate.
The work of David Rhys Jones is based on journeys he has made. The imagery collected whilst making the journeys forms a documentation of the landscape and architecture, social cultures and activity within the space. The viewer’s attention is brought to focus upon a selection of intriguing details of the surroundings, which together build a sense of narrative of this journey.
